Previously I have documented two groups that have emerged in Idlib within the context of a more independent jihadist trend that (i) declares takfir on Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (the largest insurgent faction in Idlib and its environs) and (ii) attacks the Turkish army presence in the area as that presence is considered an apostate occupation of Muslim lands. Those two groups are the Ansar Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Squadron (which has claimed multiple operations against the Turkish army) and the Abdullah bin Unais Group, which has targeted Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham. Now another group has emerged called the 'Mujahid Vanguard Organisation' (Tandhim al-Tali'a al-Mujahida), issuing a claim today of an operation against the Turkish army.
"Fight them: God will torment them at your hands and bring them to perdition and give you victory over them and heal the hearts of a believing people.'
Your brothers in the 'Mujahid Vanguard' organisation by the help and grace of God targeted a vehicle of the secular Turkish army, during their attempt to conduct a joint patrol with the Russian enemy on the M4 highway.
And we say to them: indeed the land of al-Sham rebels against you oh enemies of God.
We will not allow you to conduct your evil projects that aim to extinguish the firebrand of jihad on the land of al-Sham.
And what is to come will be harsher and more bitter oh enemies of God.'
