This nasheed from the Islamic State, with its benign tone, emphasizes the supposed peace, security and ideal nature of life under the group's rule. For example, it was featured in an Islamic State video from Rutba in Anbar province as part of a showcase of the Islamic State's offering of public services.
The Shari'a of Our Lord is a light,
By which we rise above the stars,
By which we live a life without humiliation,
A life of security and peace.
Our state has arisen on Islam in its true form.
And although it wages jihad against the enemy, it is able to rule over the people.
And also it treats its subjects with compassion and gentleness,
Undertaking that with care.
For thus it does not obtain censure.
The Shari'a of Our Lord is a light,
By which we rise above the stars,
By which we live a life without humiliation,
A life of security and peace.
If idolatrous tyranny becomes dominant, it sees that,
And it will be on the lookout for that with determination.
It treats the people sympathetically
And guides them out of knowledge.
It guarantees their lives through spending,
So they do not complain out of concern.
If one of them is in need of its generosity, thus it takes concern.
The Shari'a of Our Lord is a light,
By which we rise above the stars,
By which we live a life without humiliation,
A life of security and peace.
But the thirsty land of need
Has been nourished in longing for rain-clouds.
And the life of the people is in justice,
Far removed from the harm of oppression.
Security has enveloped their livelihood,
And has granted the wing of peace.
And disbelief does not mislead them.
And they do not fear criminality.
For what comfort there is in this life,
As though we are in a dream.
The brilliance of Islam is its lining,
For how sweet it is in design,
And our state is realizing it [i.e. this ideal Islamic] life
As it is not of delusion.
For how pure it is in religion,
And how elevated it is in rule.
