Millions have been displaced, hundreds of thousands killed, and there’s still no solution to end the conflict in Syria.
With the war now entering its fifth year, the situation on the ground remains dire, driving more Syrians towards Europe, or into neighbouring countries.

So far the international community has failed to find a solution to end the fighting.
In recent weeks, there has been a flurry of diplomatic activity.
But one sticking point remains: whether Bashar al-Assad should stay or go.
Russia and Iran have been staunch supporters of Assad and believe that he should be part of the political solution.
But much of the West and Gulf nations believe that there is no place for Assad in the country’s future.
